MENTOR OF THE WEEK – ISAAC RUCCI

Isaac Rucci has taken off time during his work schedule to inspire young people to achieve their best in life using their available resources during the Peer led education sessions under the Get Ur Mix out Campaign with RAHU. Issac Rucci has a charismatic methodology of reaching to the young people using his personal life experiences. and he says, “DON’T HATE BUT APPRECIATE”

Begun his career as a lead singer in several secular groups in 1986 in Kampala,Uganda and later started a faith based group “ Limit X”. As founder , Isaac grew and nurtured Limit X to an internationally renowned household name.
Isaac also put together numerous strategic productions associated to various multinational brands over a period of 17 years and in 45 countries making him one of the region’s foremost and most resourceful personalities in event conceptualization and management.

Isaac Rucci is a Founder and CEO of Fishnext Grope and Founder member Kampala City Yange.

MENTOR OF THE WEEK – DR IAN CLERK

Dr Ian Clerk gave a key note address during the “Get ur mix out” campaign at East High School on young people and building their self esteem in relation to hygiene and sanitation.

Dr. Ian Clarke was born in South Armagh, Northern Ireland in 1952.He trained as a General Medical Practitioner. Dr. Ian Clarke holds the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), and the degree of Master of Science (MSc). He also holds the Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H).

He moved to Uganda in the late 1980s to set up a rural community hospital, north of Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. After starting that rural hospital, now known as Kiwoko Hospital, Dr. Clarke decided to start a private hospital called, International Hospital Kampala (IHK), opened in 1996 In 2008, Dr. Ian Clarke started International Health Sciences University (IHSU).

Dr. Clarke also writes a weekly column in The New Vision, Uganda’s biggest daily, and has further projects in Juba, South Sudan and in Zanzibar, Tanzania where he owns a family built and run boutique hotel. He is a dual citizen of both The United Kingdom and Uganda.

Dr. Ian Clarke is Group Managing Director of International Medical Group (IMG), the leading provider of private medical services in Uganda. The companies that comprise IMG include: International Hospital Kampala (IHK), International Air Ambulance (IAA), International Health Sciences University (IHSU), International Medical Foundation (IMF), International Medical Group (IMG)

In November 2010, Dr. Ian Clarke entered Uganda politics by securing nomination, as an Independent, to contest for the Chairmanship of Makindye Division, one of the five (5) divisions of the city of Kampala. His three pillars in the election are: “good roads, good health and economic development”

RAHU has been invited for an ADVOCACY AND FUNDING WORKSHOP IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF EUROPEAN COMMISSION – EAST AFRICAN COMMUNITY HEALTH PROJECT “INVEST IN ADOLESCENTS: BUILDING ADVOCCACY CAPACITY IN EAST AFRICA” organized by the Ministry of Health from the 7th to 11th May 2012. the workshop is majorly targeting CSO’s dealing with Adolescent Health in Uganda of which RAHU was selected.
